Monthly meeting of the Hamden Hill Ridge Riders

Hamden Hill Ridge Riders Meeting 3/12/2010
Hamden Town Hall (24 Members present)

1. Meeting opened at 7:05PM to the Pledge of Allegiance
2. Financial report by Jean Groth. Motion to accept by Pete DeBrock 2nd by Sam Balcom. Accepted
3. Minutes of last meeting read by Hank Groth. Motion to accept by Bill Wright, 2nd by Ron Favret. Minutes accepted.
4. Dave Sprague our Delaware County Rep. Asked the members to send letters to the Governor and Budget Director protesting the proposed sweep of the snowmobile trail fund money. He also said that the trail fund money, from registrations, will probably go directly to the clubs and be handled by NYSSA in the future. This could prevent Albany from raiding the money the clubs get from registrations.
5. Joe said that the new caretaker at Camp Nubar in Andes wanted an Insurance Certificate and a letter of agreement of what we will do to maintain a trail through their property. Joe is in the process of writing that up at the present.
6. The Walton Fair board was presented with $1000 from the club. One check to the Board for $300 for the use of the facilities and one check for $700 as a donation toward the reconstruction of the Horse Barn that was burned down by Arsonists.
7. Matt Sluiter said that the Bombi groomer will need new tires and that will be addressed in the future.
8. Insurance for damage to the groomers was discussed and Matt said that a floater policy might be the answer. He will look further into this matter and have an answer at our next executive board meeting in April.
9. Matt Sluiter and Bill Sprague ran for President with Matt Sluiter being the victor. Marilyn Armstrong ran un-opposed for Treasurer and was nominated by Matt Sluiter and 2nd by Jean Groth. Bill Wright, Charlie Hedges, Pete DeBrock, Rich Talbot, Earl Sines & Gary Tymeson ran for three positions as Directors. Bill Wright, Earl Sines & Gary Tymeson were elected to those positions. Because of the vacancy left for Vice President due to Matt Sluiter moving up to President a special election was called to fill that spot. Joe Caso ran against Gerry Wright for the position of Vice President with Joe coming out on top.
10. Jean Groth asked for a donation for the Hamden Relay For life Team. Last year the club donated $200 but Jean noted that because of the economy she would only ask for $100. A motion was made by Matt Sluiter to donate $100, 2nd by Jon Armstrong and passed.
11. Earl asked what hours would be acceptable in Walton should we be successful in getting a trail for snowmobiles into Walton. The hours from 8AM to 9PM were decided upon.
12. Bill Wright said that he was having a lot of trouble with his 4-stroke groomer. It was decided to wait until the fall and then have it serviced at Delaware Sport Center.
13. Steve Reed said that the outgoing officers should be commended for their time and effort that they put into our club. Everyone agreed.
14. Joe presented Matt Sluiter, Earl Sines and Bill & Caroline with plaques to thank them for their time and effort they put into the club in the past.
15. The 50-50 was won by Joe Caso for $20
16. Meeting Adjourned at 8:10PM. Motion by Micah Scobie 2nd by Sam Balcom

Executive Board meeting scheduled for April 23 7PM at the Hamden Town Hall
